Eggs often come up in reproductive health discussion. This time we’re talking about dietary eggs, as in omelettes, and the role they play in boosting testosterone. The hormone boost from eggs comes primarily from the yolks, which are rich in dietary cholesterol, mono- and saturated fats—nutrients once demonized by health experts that have since proven to positively influence waistlines and hormone-health. In fact, studies on vegetarian and low-fat diets both show reduced testosterone levels of about 12 percent. Where higher fat diets of at least 40 percent of calories, with a higher intake of saturated fat, show increased testosterone levels. Why? It’s not rocket science. After all, cholesterol makes up the building blocks from which testosterone is formed; without it, the hormone simply can’t synthesize. Organic eggs are one of the best dietary sources. In addition to essential fatty acids, a whole egg is rich in aspartic acid, an amino acid that triggers production of testosterone.

Testosterone makes you angry.  This is probably the most common myth about T. The reality is that there’s no concrete evidence that high testosterone levels cause anger and violent outbursts. In fact, the opposite might be true; low testosterone, not high T, is what causes anger and irritability in men. As discussed above, having low T levels has been linked to depression in men and it just so happens that two of the primary symptoms of depression in men are increased angry outbursts and irritability. So if you’re chronically angry, you might be depressed, and you might be depressed because you have low T. As I mentioned above, I became  less  moody and irritable during my experiment, which I attribute to the boost in my testosterone levels.

Now this is a remarkable change if you think about it.  The "concentration" of testosterone and estrogen - estradiol is what really counts - changed by 24% from just one lifestyle change.  Imagine what could happen as you pile on some of the other Testosterone Increasing Techniques and Estrogen Lowering Strategies that I have mentioned on the web site.  There is no reason that you cannot dramatically improve your ratio of testosterone to estradiol (unless you happen to be training for the Olympics with a professional trainer).
